I've been using Windows 7 for a couple of months and cannot find the search tool. I want to find on file on a certain drive, i.e., C: I don't want to search by folders but use the old wildcards *

On XP it was available with a right click on the Start icon.

Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Open any folder window ... in the top right corner where it says SEARCH type in your search string and hit enter... this launches the search tool and you can click on several options to expand your search.

Also, like in XP, if you click on the open desktop and hit F3 it pops up for you...
