File sharing to specific users

I have two computers that are currently set up with the "homegroup" settings.

One is my laptop, and the other is a Desktop.

On my laptop I currently have only one user profile (Tom Laptop).

On the desktop I currently have 2 user profiles, Media Center and Tom Desktop.

Does anyone know how to securely share files between the Desktop and the Laptop, while prohibiting the Media Center "user" from being able to access the files?

Didn't work. My best guess is that the desktop computer doesn't recognize the laptop computer for the purpose that I want to use this feature.

AKA: I have no idea what I'm doing.
