Hello,

I've noticed since my upgrade to Windows 7 that when a file transfer dialogue is going, I'll see the dilaogue populate "Time Remaining: About 45 minutes" for example.

Is there a way to get windows to display the exact calculated time, rather than "about x minutes"?

There is no exact calculation of time, you ask for the impossible type of calculation. There are way to many variables to give an exact time.

Hi Paul, Welcome to Seven Forums

I don't get it.
Even it it says 'About 45 minutes' (7) or '45 Minutes Remaining' (XP), they are both the same thing. Both are only estimates. They are not the exact time required to copy/move. Its just the presentation that has been changed in 7.

Well, the software is clearly wrapping the calculated time with that wording. Im sure it just has a calculation that fluctuates within a certain tolerance based on the rate of download. I guess rather I should ask is there a way to show what windows is constantly arriving at for the estimated time?
