File Transfer using Remote Desktop Connection?

Hello,
Does RDC not have a file transferring feature? I would think being able to transfer, for example printer drivers, to the Remote client in order to work on that client would be an essential thing to do?

I did that. But just wondering about it b/c sometimes it's easier to not share things and just move them straight to the client.

In remote desktop "options" you can choose the "resources" (such as hard drive) that you want to use in your remote session. That will allow you to transfer files.

hmmm "file transferring feature"...had you wrote it differently from the start i would have replied differently.

Auto mapping of drives upon connection does not "transfer" anything, it's just gives u a doorway to access what i believe to be a share nonetheseless and non technically speaking. Anywayyyy.

Good point. You're right. No Transferring, but a little more elegant than having to map the drive in My Computer, too many drives floating around gives me a headache.

Sharing is a fine idea if both computers are on the same network. But it's a bad idea if you try to share folders over the internet. There have been too many security problems over the years in the file sharing protocols.

So noted. I'll probably use a readonly local drive and put AV/HIPS protection on it when I share it while helping other people over the internet.

if you're going to help someone on the net, I'd recommend Teamviewer. because it seems pretty secure and it has file transfer built-in. Plus it lets everyone interact with the desktop at the same time.
