Hi, i was working on my accounts for my business last night when i had a power cut. When the power came back on 2 folders were missing from 2 locations. They were both holding the accounts files for February but the odd thing was they were in two different locations and i had finished working on them and had moved to doing the accounts for march.

The files were on a mirrored volume which i thought would guarantee that nothing would be lost in the event of an error.

I tried chkdsk which would not run until i rebooted and afterwards got this output from the event viewer:
Code:
Checking file system on D:
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Volume label is Big Storage.

One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You
may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended
that you continue.
Windows will now check the disk.

It seemed to find some of the missing files and folders while it was running but then said something about deleting them.

When windows restarted i still could not find any of the missing files or folders.

Can anyone help?

You can try to recover them with Recuva free. https://www.piriform.com/recuva

Mirrored volume is Microsoft's wording for RAID1. You can search google for "why raid 1 is not a substitute for a backup".
