When it comes to a folder or a file that requires administrative permission to be deleted, then no prompt is shown. To reproduce this problem, turn on the prompt on delete in the Recycle Bin settings (you can also turn it in the group policy, if you want). Then try to create a folder in Program Files, put a file in there, then try to delete this folder. No confirmation will be requested. My question is, how can I force Windows to show the confirmation box?

This happens only, if I choose to delete a folder (or a file) from the menu. If I press Delete, there is a dialog/prompt.

As I understand it, most folks won't be putting files in Program Files or Program Files (x86) as those Folders are for installed programs which may explain what you are seeing. Installed programs actually need to be Uninstalled rather than just deleted by using the program's uninstall routine or Control Panel, Programs and Features.

Thanks for your answer, it is just not clear to me, why i see i dialog box on nearly every file delete and only when i try to delete administrative files there is none or only when i use the delete key instead of the menue.
