Find ip address

So for about a week now some guy has been calling my wife and when she answers he does not talk, just breathes into the phone. ( obviously this started to scare her ) then she had a guy at her work answer when he called again, this time he just hung up no breathing into the phone.
A few minutes latter she gets an email. Title: Phone Etiquette

"Rule # 1

It is impolite to have someone else answer the phone for you."

His email is from gmail and it seems gmail does not include the ip address in the header. I've also tried the reverse look up for the phone numbers ( it's been 2-3 diff numbers all (210) 353-XXXX

Is there a way to get the ip address from a gmail account or find name/address of the phone number ( they are land lines not cell )

I really just want to know who it is, I just have a feeling it is someone we know possibly someone on her Facebook friends. It just makes it worse thinking it could be someone I see all the time and their actually doin this

Pal .... personally I would get the police involved your problem needs a bit more help than an Internet forum

if it continues i will be calling the police but at the moment i dout i have enough for the police to do anything. just an email address that could just be one he made up just for that one email and a few phone numbers that for all i know could be payphones.

If the person has any brains he/she would be using a proxy you need to think from a stalkers point of view

1 dont use any phone number i own

2 dont use a real email

3 always use a proxy

4 always use a pc or connection i don't own ie library or some other method

and number 5 (dont take it the wrong way)

why does she have a stalker (we will call it a stalker) is it a male friend your not ment to know about and she has dumped him from a great hight ? (we hope not)

thats a huge assumtion, and at a time when the op's wife needs most support not suspicion, who knows why someone decides to behave like this,it could be he likes her shoes or she has snubbed his flirting in the office,
the OP's wife is a victim regardless of the reason and so the op needs to be supporting .
im sure it is a stressful enough time for the two of them without anymore crap to add to the pot.

I reallly dont think its some male "friend" and i think if it happens again i will just call the police. sofar no calls over the weekend, i dont know if whoever it is only does it when they know im not around ( like when my wife is at work ) or if they got other ppl to stalk on weekends, or maybe it really is someone i know and word got around when i started askin afew of my friends that are cyber security / penitration testers how i should go about finding out who this is. but its prolly for the best i didnt find the ip address so i didnt end up the one dealing with police (as a cyber security student i have learned some nasty things to send).

Im normally very tolarent of things when it comes to guys hitting on my wife ( it happens alot when out a bars ) but as soon as i inform the shes my wife thats the end. but this is a whole new level and just really pissed me off. i guess ill see tomorrow if it keeps happening but at this point who ever it is, is not worth my time our the chance of me breaking the law/ruining future career ill just call the police and show them the phone logs and emails.

This person knows her email address, and knows where she is. It sounds like a coworker, perhaps someone within eyeshot. If you contact the police, they may not be able to do much, but they will be aware, and can no doubt suggest what you can do.

I dont think it could be a coworker its a small office with her and one other girl and one guy (he has been there when some of the calls came in). My bet is someone on her FaceBook friends, as soon as she told me what was going on i got on her FB and sure enough her Phone # was on there set to only allow friends to see (but im pretty damn sure i told to to take that off a long time ago) so im better either one of the "friends" from FB or maybe someone she deleted shit maybe even someone that simply had access to a fb account that she is friends with.

Some teenagers prank called my mom once. They were very immature that they claim to "threaten" her life. Of course, my mom got pissed off and called the police. Police came and adviced that the best course would be to contact the phone company to get records/block phone numbers, etc.

For my personal advice though, I would contact Google regarding the e-mail incident and see how they would respond. I tried that with Yahoo once and they said I need to get some sort of a police report, a warrant, or a court order and they will happily help me with whatever scary problems I have in regards to e-mail.

You could also check with your local phone company if they use *69 (to save the last incoming phone number.) When one of those annoying calls comes in you hang up and immediately punch *69. The phone company has reverse access to the saved number and that info can be made available to the police.

*67 may also be available and that blocks the last incoming phone number regardless of if it's listed or unlisted.

Your phone company customer service department should also be notified as they would have to work with the local police for any traces.

I have the phone numbers, he never tried to block his number. I only listed the number as (210) 353-xxxx cuz I didn't know if it was against any forum rules to list the actual number.
So far it has not happened again, which is good but I'm still very curious to find out who it is. I still get the feeling it is someone I know.
Since I can't get his ip address from the email he sent maybe I can send him an email and find the receiving ip address

Just an update. It took some digging but I found all the numbers were registered to our electric company. I only know one person that works there and he has harassed my wife b4. So I figure I'll call him and give him the choice either meet me face to face ( he never had the balls to b4 ) or I call the company and tell them to look in to it / handle it or I file a complaint with the BBB ( better business bureau )
