hi i have a acer aspire x1700 its kinda a mini compact computer. theres a slot where a modem was and i took it out i wanna put a wireless card in that slow. but im not sure what its called something like pci slot. can someone help

i did a little research and i think that port is a pci-express x1 so i need to find a wireless adapter N for it. can you help plz?

ok the problem is. my computer in a mini. so that metal long thing on the pci is shorter than a regular PCI-express slot. its a pci-express x1 slot not a regular x16 i just found out. but how do i tell if it is. cause nowhere on sites does it say pci-express x1 or x16

oh i understand that. but the im talking about the metal part that screws and holds the card in place. THEY SEEM LONGER THAT THE LOWPROFILE COMPUTER I HAVE WHICH IS MINI. there not as long. if you look my computer up acer aspire x1700 the graphics card and modem are low profile cards. i think that metal part is gunna be sticking outta my computer and will not fit. do you understand what im saying?
