Possibly someone has solution please... Lost almost everything in fire. All is returning to normal, but I can not replace my DSLR any time soon. I have an old Sony DSCS70 digital camera. That needs software/driver. Sony no longer supported.
Do not need another online fix. need the real thing if it is out there
thank you.

Welcome to the Seven Forums.

Glad to hear that thing are getting back to normal. Might I ask what the camera driver does for you? What functionality is missing due to this missing driver?

thanks for response. I just want to down load pics camera to computer. maybe I asked the wrong question
Do not like reverting to older OS, downloading some "fix it driver" from the internet. I have msac-us1, memory stick, cables, would like to find a copy the original software, which is the only thing missing from camera package I had in storage. $$ is oh so very tight.
thanks

Try connecting the camera to your computer and see if the operating system finds it as a storage device. If it does, then it should show up in the Windows (file) Explorer as just another drive. You can copy (or move) files from the camera to the computer's hard drive using the Windows (file) Explorer... no additional software should be needed.

You might stumble across someone that has the original software, but I would not install anything from an old CD onto a new operating system - not unless the CD specifically mentions that the software was written for the operating system that you are using.

it's time to upgrade the reader

NO the usb connection is not recognized either. But I have acquired a new Sony memory stick duo adapter and just need to format it????? If this does not work I out of luck..
I read in other Sony posts, the changing the communications mode from "Normal" to "PTP", will work. I can not find it on the camera menu.

So don't ya just love learning? seems it's time to upgrade the reader, So any suggestions to type/brand the new reader should be? I have compared several. I am finding that win7 compatibility is hit and miss. I am willing to spend a bit extra to fix this.

Not a big fan but wow what a game!

How odd - there is usually some setting on the camera that has it "let go of" the memory stick, then the computer can see it as just another drive. I see the USB drivers for W98 on Sony's website. That is the kind of thing that you don't want to install from an old original CD onto an newer OS like W7.

Maybe someone that is more into photograph will stop by your thread and offer info on formatting stuff.
