Finding a downloaded file.........

I downloaded a .pdf file but don't remember the name of it. It was 8meg in size but now I can't find it anywhere. I've gone to all download folders, etc.

What happened to the function that was in XP where you could search the most recently downloaded files by date, etc.?

It's like if you don't remember the name of the file you downloaded your screwed!

START type in *.pdf enter

gets a list of all pdf files, then sort by date if you want

If you used a browser like Opera, or a download manager, you could open the manager and it would show you the path that the file was downloaded to.

I had this same question a night or two ago. The search function above the Start Button did not help me. Try this, Click on Start and Computer. That will open up a window and on the right will be a Search window. Type .PDF That will get it.
