Is a fingerprint login good for a home pc? Is it as save as a password or safer?

I am thinking about buying this
Amazon.com: Eikon Digital Privacy Manager - USB fingerprint reader: Electronics

I Think its a cool gadget to have for my Desktop but im not sure if its a good idea. Please comment on what you think about them and if any of you have them please post what kind you have and price also were you bought it. Thank you! - jesse

First I'll say I have never used one.
A biometric login device should be a lot safer than typed characters....should be. I have read one can breathe on one closely which causes the last fingerprint to be visible to the device by causing the print to hold moisture temorarily.

I suppose if one wiped the detector clean after each use it would be safe.
