Firefox 15??

I upgraded to what I assume was the latest and greatest, 10.0.1, maybe 6 or 8 months ago.

So they are grinding out new versions every month or two. Lovely. The Mozilla death spiral appears intact. I haven't checked the recent Firefox market share, but it was not looking good a year or so ago.

I'm glad I don't deliberately keep track of new versions and updates obsessively. It would wear me out.

I have not noticed any memory issues, but I am long since sick of the entire "add-on/extension" thing.

Backsliding to Internet Explorer looms as increasingly likely.

FFS mine only auto updated to 14.0.1 a few days ago, i've just done a check and it updated to 15

Since the "idiots-in-charge" decided that they must outdo Chrome in the "update race", FF's market share has gone down.

IMO, the orange button didn't help either.
"One button to rule them all."

Still, Firefox is my preferred browser.
Opera seems to be OK (I have it in a VM that I use for my Web Design course)

IMO:

• IE9 and IE10 are awful (can't be customised).
• I won't use Chrome (Google are too untrustworthy).
• Maxthon can't be customised.

I can't find a Chromium installer for my PC.
The one I did find had an unethical "mass crapware" installer (with cunningly altered buttons).
After I battled through it, it was the 32 bit version, which refused to install on my PC.

I'm using FireFox 15 Beta 2. All I receive is Flash Stopped working and FireFox locking up for 10-20 seconds. What has happened to FireFox, what has happened. I don't want to go back to Chrome, because I have FireFox setup, finally, exactly the way I want it.

I use Chrome, Opera and IE for testing but I always use FF as my main browser but this constant updating is starting to get to me a lot

It has more addons. I find Firefox to usually work better with none, or very minimal addons. Like maybe 2 @ most. And I find FF better for p0rn! I still use it, but also use the "other" browsers as well...

I run Pale Moon which is basically a modded version of Firefox. Every few months I try running Chrome but I always find something it can't do that I need it to so I'm back to Pale Moon.

When I updated to FF 15 this week, I guess it was Flash that stopped working because I had trouble accessing my baseball sites. Is there a way to stop the updates from automatically taking place so I can just stick with the version that is working?

I have chosen "never check for updates".

Nor do I update add-ons or search engines.

Are we talking about web browsers here? That thing that runs in the background while I surf the web? Is someone seriously suggesting that I'm missing something because I'm using the "wrong" web browser? Or are we just splitting hairs over some performance benchmark dreamed up by someone's marketing team?

Please, enlighten me as to why I need to spend any time at all switching to any other browser than the one I'm currently using (Firefox. obviously). I'm not a fanboy - just lazy! I need a good reason!

I'm more than happy to use Firefox or 2 tin cans and a length of string. Whatever works.

But FF is become increasing annoying--particularly in the add-ons. I use as few as possible. I've turned off all updates for the last 6 plus months, but still have occasional add-on grief.

So, I'm considering a non-add-on browser that provides basic functionality, decent security, and damn little else.

I have not looked at IE in several years.

I looked at Chrome 2 or 3 years ago and was not amused. And I'd prefer not to enable or encourage Google to continue with its plans for World Domination.

So, in reality, it's probably FF or IE.

I like FF and don't want to change unless I have to. IE is good, but there are a few things that I don't like. I used IE all day yesterday as I was trying to straighten out my FF. I guess it is just a case or preferring FF over IE.
