I found I didn't delete 2.x. I put Thunderbird 14 in another folder. So all I had to do was uninstall and put (un)read button back in. I feel better now.

I don't care. When I looked for the download of the last 2.x next to it was the caption "the last usable version of Thunderbird." I see no reason to go past 2.0.0.24. Like I say, I don't pound out so much email that I need multiple tabs. 2.x does the job.

(edit: besides. It's not like the old days when I used Opera 8.51 for years. I mean, these Mozilla versions are jumping from 4 to 16 in a few months. It's retarded.)

Yes, I agree. Feel like there is no choice but to go ahead and let it fly in fear of security risk's.

Maybe on the Mozilla site it explains more about the updates, haven't tried it tho.
