They might use it because it was stable enough

It would explain why it wouldn't let me upgrade from RC3 to Final via 'Check for updates'

They are not MS. A release candidate means exactly that. MS RC = beta.

Release Candidate of a product means FEATURE COMPLETE,not bugs-free as you would expect from a final release :sarc: otherwise everyone should skip Release Candidate and call it "FINAL" lol

Exactly, most people today think RC = Bug free for some reason, RC is the final phase in which they use people (like us) to help find show-stopper bugs and other minor issues.

What better way to test for bugs then let normal users use a RC client and listen to them moan about the bug? =P

Can anybody else with ff 3.5 see if this happens. I 'm running 7264 x64.

I have IE open with three tabs and minimized to the taskbar. I have FF opened with two tabs. When I minimize FF at the top right, it throws up (maximizes) IE as soon as I click on the minimize button in FF.

Your logic is flawed. That's not the route it takes. Why would they call it final at the beginning if its a release CANDIDATE?

Let me spell it out for you...

What do the words mean - Release Candidate?
Exactly what it means. This is a candidate for release.

Normal RC route:

RC1 > Everything OK? > Yes > Release To Manufacturing (RTM = GOLD - same thing u get in store)
RC1 > Everything OK? > No > Fix and release RC2
etc

From Wikipedia...
Release candidate

The term release candidate (RC) refers to a version with potential to be a final product, ready to release unless fatal bugs emerge.
MS does not play along. They make up their own definition and I call it beta as most other software makers would call it if they were doing the same.
