* This beta is now available in more than 70 languages.
* Improved tools for controlling your private data, including a Private Browsing Mode.
* Better performance and stability with the new TraceMonkey JavaScript engine.
* The ability to provide Location Aware Browsing using web standards for geolocation.
* Support for native JSON, and web worker threads.
* Improvements to the Gecko layout engine, including speculative parsing for faster content rendering.
* Support for new web technologies such as: HTML5 <video> and <audio> elements, downloadable fonts and other new CSS properties, JavaScript query selectors, HTML5 offline data storage for applications, and SVG transforms.

Instantly don't like the Private Browsing Mode, it closes all Windows and Tabs until you finish browsing

I was hoping by now they would at least catch up with chrome and ie8 on launching, and chrome on rendering. It's still not even close . Firefox is such a pain for me on Windows because of how slow it can be just to launch. (Not an issue on OS X though, since apps only have to load once)

I've got your solution right here; Firefox Preloader. My FF (well, Minefield actually) now launches faster than IE and about as fast as Chrome.

Anyone here use the Minefield nightly builds? IT'S FAST.

Thanks, I'll probably be sticking with Chrome because of how elegantly it handles tab tearing and private browsing, but now if Firefox comes back with a killer feature, I don't have to worry about it being a slug.

Just grabbed it, lets see how it works!
Hopefully this will speed up using FF on school computers off my flash.

As for the RC, I may have to try it.... Hmmm...

NOTE: The Pre-Loader will not allow DownLoad manager to start!!!
I was downloading the Seven RC, and paused it to install this. Then I tried to start it back up, but was getting an error. Had to turn it off, and then restart. Hope it works otherwise, but just so you all know, it does not work with Download manager!

Huh? I'm not using any supercomputer and it opens, with many plugins and custom skin, before I can even realize I've lifted my finger off the quick launch.

It's not a long wait, just a half second to a second, but half seconds feel awkward and seconds break trains of thought and make the system feel less responsive. And during any mdoerate disk activity, firefox crawls to launch. I've noticed it on pretty much every computer I've use recent versions of firefox on. It's not horrible, but after using chrome for so long, it's pretty annoying and definitely noticeable. On my system (q6600, 8gb ram, pretty new harddrive) there's a clear difference that goes: Chrome >>> IE8 > Firefox. This is the latest version with no extensions or plugins or anything.
