Firefox 3.6.7 fixes the following issues found in previous versions of Firefox 3.6:

• Fixed several security issues.
• Fixed several stability issues.

Stability issues...that's what drove me away from Firefox. Between the memory leaks and max CPU usage on websites with heavy Javascript. It was just too much.

Firefox has had that and always will IMO. Better option is to switch to another browser.

I have had the same Opera browser open for the past week, multiple tabs opened and closed during this time - hundreds maybe thousands. Both memory usage and CPU usage are perfectly stable.

I've had it running since about 9AM, so 5.5 hours, and this is what comes up in Task Manager....
so it would seem I have no leak.

Perhaps just saying that it has never been a problem for "me" would be better. I've personally not had any memory leak issues with Firefox and that is pretty much all that I have used for years. Until I run into some of these problems, I'm perfectly willing to just stick with it as it has worked great for me. I realize others may have different experiences and that is why they use alternative browsers.

That's not when the leak starts. It usually happens when you leave the browser open for days at a time.

I guess an easy fix would be to close your browser every night but if you have 8-10 tabs open at a time then it is sort of pointless. I know that Firefox can save the tabs but the fact is that the memory leak is a problem. It always has been and I have been using Firefox since 1.0.

After switching to Opera? This is no longer a problem.

My thoughts exactly, no problems, have been using it since it first came out and have no reason to change.

Your comment is naive. Why is it stupid? My PC runs 24/7. If I have tabs open with websites I want to go back to then why should I close the browser?

A memory leak is a serious problem for any application. For a web browser to have it for years on end is a failure on Mozilla's part.

That's the same thing that Firefox users did with IE6. How else do you think so many people switched? Word of mouth...
