Firefox 4.0 Pushed Even Further Back into 2011

Hm, what about IE 9?
What about it? I tried it out and it was nothing that really impressed me. I didn't consider dropping FF because of it. In fact, I find IE almost useless with the address bar squished onto the tab area at the top. That browser is a no-go for me to even consider based on this.
Ok man, we get it, you don't like IE9. No need to point it out every time you talk about web browsers.

I would not have brought it up if somebody didn't specifically ask what we thought about IE9. And I don't hate IE or IE9.....but after looking at it, I choose to use other products. Firefox is my browser of choice....and a lot of other people love Google Chrome. I tried Chrome and couldn't get into it.....but I wouldn't say that it's a bad browser. So, at the end of the day, IE and Chrome are just not for me.

Not what I meant, I really enjoy hardware acceleration, also, IE9 booted faster than FF4. IE9 lacks all of the addons FF has, that's the advantage. I didn't consider switching from FF, simply wondered when IE9 may be released.

Gotcha. I've never prioritized hardware acceleration as the sites that I typically go to are like this forum site and simply don't utilize it. I saw some of the preview sites when I was checking out IE9 and they looked great....but I haven't had a need to see any sites like that since.

I have installed Opera and keep upgrading it but can't seem to unfixate from FF. Like pparks1, I see no great advantage in IE once I have gotten used to FF but I works fine and reasonably fast. Except for some security issues with IE, if it works for you, no reason I can see to jump ship to FF. (FireFox is not immune to invasions.)

But I have a real beef with Chrome that keeps me from adopting it, despite its loading speed: It insists on installing itself in the installers private directories rather than under "Program Files". This means I have to grant other users of my PC access to my directories, or that each user must install their own copy. :(

Just my $0.02 (US)
