Firefox 4 beta 7 has been posted on majorgeeks.com, but majorgeeks has been known to jump the gun and I can't confirm it's official. It's not being offered as an update through the browser, but the internal updater is often late. Does anyone know if this is the real deal?

Yes, Firefox 4 Beta 7 is out and I'm using it to write this reply. You should download it at the official Firefox site: Firefox web browser | Help us test the latest beta. As a side note, preferably don't download stuff from majorgeeks.com as it is known to, as you said, jump the gun. Get stuff from CNET's download.com. Anyway, as a quick overall review, Firefox 4 Beta 7 is better - much better. The dramatically better performance is because this version of Firefox has started using the JagerMonkey JIT Javascript compiler which boosts performance and speed to 5 times of that of the previous beta 4 and the current stable 3 version. That's the best part of this browser and I'm not kidding, it's almost as good as Chrome (which is my absolute favorite). The speed, smoothness, and performance is the best part. Also greatly improved are the graphic performance, HTML-5 support, OpenType fonts, and 3D graphics harnessing WebGL. The browser loads up fast and smooth like really fast and smooth. It's a deep breather after my horrible experience (and many others) of beta 4. To an extent, it's much better than the stable 3 version, but we'll have to wait for stable 4. Still, you should definitely get this browser. It's really really really good and on my rankings, 10 outta 5 stars! :)
