It had too many tabs and it keeps crashing every time I try to launch it. Maybe there is a bug? I created another account and it works there well but I want it to work well on this account too.
Turning the computer on and off didn't work.

First step would be to try starting Firefox in Safe Mode, which is done by holding down the shift key and double-clicking the FF desktop icon. (I think, but don't know, that this will work with a single click if you have a FF icon on the Windows task bar.)

Alternatively, Start Button/Run/ and one of these:

  • firefox -safe-mode
  • "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode
  • "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode

It worked when I did the safe mode but it still crashes after that when I launch it without the safe mode.

Not a surprising result, and it most likely indicates that you have an extension, or possibly a plugin, that is causing the problem.

The trick is going to be to find out which one(s) might be the culprit(s), and given that Firefox crashes, apparently immediately upon restart, there may not be much you can do to isolate such items.

However, you might try a few things, such as renaming prefs.js from the non-working FF profile, and trying to start FF; this will write a new file, and just might allow you to access the profile. Failing that, I suggest that you ask for assistance at Information • mozillaZine Forums ,where there are FF users who are more familiar with the type of difficulty you have encountered than I am, and, thus, may be able to salvage things for you

Try disabling Hardware acceleration while in safe mode. Enter FF safe mode as above

Tools> Options> Advanced> General> Under Browsing, uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available> OK

Restart FF in normal mode and see if it crashes.
