Firefox Crashing

Within the last couple months I have started having this problem with Firefox. It will crash and I get a prompt that says Shockwave is giving it a problem and gives me the opportunity to close Shockwave. After I close it things are fine in Firefox but I need Shockwave for some video effects. Has anyone found a solution to this?

There has been a new version released for flash player possibly shockwave has also been updated,

The latest Shockwave release has a new security mechanism, that, at least for me, required that, after I had installed it, I open IE and run the Shockwave installer final part. I don't remember if the installer message appeared automatically in IE or if I had to go to Adobe - Test Adobe Shockwave Player to get the install to finish. This step did not appear in Fx when I opened the Adobe Test URL; unable to get Shockwave to run in Fx, I decided to try it in IE, which led to my finding how to run the last part of the installer..

Once I had run the final step, Shockwave worked in both IE and Fx.

Thanks to both of you for your help. I installed the latest Shockwave and we will see if that clears my problem.

Hello Jim, if it happens again, grab a screenshot of the error as well. Also what version of FF you are using.

If you have the problem again, try disabling hardware acceleration if it is on

Tools> Options> Advanced> General> Untick Use hardware acceleration when available

I have version 24.0 Firefox has a new one every week it seems. == I will try what you said. Thanks,
