After ignoring this while attempting a more urgent fix on my laptop, I now want to try to fix this.

Here's what happens. Firefox browses and navigates fine, not a problem. Only when scrolling either with arrow or mouse, the background and sometimes the taskbar/system tray flicker. It's like you can see what window is open behind the browser view.

I have tried using IE (not a fan...) and it didn't work so I uninstalled Firefox and attempted a reinstall only to find the problem remains.

I did a search and tried some troubleshooting like updating my mouse driver and changing Windows theme from Aero.

Any solutions to this?

Thanks in advance.

Have you, in Firefox, gone to Options/Options/Advanced/General, and changed the "Use Smooth Scrolling" setting?

Have you gone to Index page • mozillaZine Forums and searched for "scroll flicker"?

Have you gone to https://addons.mozilla.org/ , searched for "scroll" and tried any of the extensions listed there?

You might also try to disable Hardware acceleration to see if that changes anything:

Open Firefox> Tools> Options> Advanced> General (Same path as Not Myself suggested above)

Untick Use hardware acceleration when available

Tried and I thought it had gone away but it's still flickering.

Also disabled hardware acceleration, did another uninstall then reinstall but it's no better.

Sooooooo irritating.
