uninstall firefox. check the remove config box or w.e was that called
reinstall and it should be fixed... use stable versions not the beta ones if I were you... also try ccleaner or tuneup to clean registry some app leftovers
alright i did that im going to check again tonight since i had to leave for work, cause i couldnt tell of the bat because i was logging into sites, and if i kept going back to the same sites you know how it stays logged in for a certain amount of time.

Happened to me as well. Turns out that I had adjusted some of the options on the Privacy tab in a manner that effectively enabled privacy mode.

the re installing did the trick with deleting all the files then running ccleaner
