Social sites and services are a key part of online life and we develop Firefox for how you use the Web. Over the last year, we’ve been working on ways to integrate social sites and services directly into Firefox to quickly and easily connect you with your friends and family.

Last year, we launched with Facebook as the first social integration partner in Firefox. Soon after that we added Cliqz, Mixi and msnNOW and we look forward to integrating more social sites, services and apps into Firefox to make your browsing experience more social, customizable and personal.

As part of expanding our social offering to provide you with an even better experience, we developed the ability to easily share content from Firefox. The share button on the Firefox toolbar lets you share your favorite content in a few clicks with friends or followers directly from Firefox, wherever you go on the Web. You can post an interesting article to your profile, share a recipe with your friends or send an idea for a gift in a private message or email, all without leaving the Web page you are visiting. You can try out this now with Facebook Messenger for Firefox or Cliqz.

Just what we need. More shit, garbage, and trash options in our browser. I use Pale Moon x64, and they've said they are not going to the new Australis format, they are keeping the Custom Toolbar options, and that they will remove the social media trash as well. More crap = less stability and less security. Remember, that when the service is free, YOU ARE THE PRODUCT.

 More "features" I won't use. (Yeah, I'm one of those people who doesn't even have a Facebook profile/account.)

I like Firefox in general though, and I will continue to use it so long as it meets my needs and doesn't force me into anything I don't want.

I wish they'd fix the Bookmark Manager instead of wasting time on this stuff.

They should also offer a better installer, if they are going to keep on adding "fluff" features.
It should have an "Advanced Option", so that you can choose the features that you actually want installed.
It should also remember your choices, so that you don't have to edit your feature settings after future updates.

@ Wrend, you should give Pale Moon x64 a shot. It's a windows optimized Firefox fork without all the BS. I've been using it for years and it's rock solid. They do lag a release or so behind FFx to weed out the problems before issue. The x64 version is REALLY fast. And they're going to keep the new bullshit from Moz at bay as long as possible. BTW, I've also heard that Firefox is going to kill the Bookmarks sidebar as well as the addons bar. That's a deal killer for me.

Someone could raise the question on their community support forum - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/get-community-support

Thanks for that link. :)

Last time I tried to report an issue, they demanded that I sign up to Google, so I said, "hasta la vista, baby."

Since my TAFE just forced me to sign up to Google ( ), I guess it can't get any worse if I visit the Mozilla site now.

BTW, I've also heard that Firefox is going to kill the Bookmarks sidebar as well as the addons bar. That's a deal killer for me.

More worthless "improvements" to suck up to phone and tablet users I guess.

That would be "par for the course" these days.
Ignore the users who made you, what you are today (just like MS with W8).

It seems like every software company has been overrun by brain-dead marketing zombies.

To be fair, probably equally by brain-dead user/consumer zombies, but you didn't hear that from me. ;)

Outside of some business workstations and similar, a lot of people likely just use their computers for the functionality that can be had with tablets/"smart" phones.

It doesn't bode too well for us PC enthusiasts/professionals.

As long as it remains open source and it's so easy to add/remove stuff with addons it remains my browser.

No really, how much browsers can be re-skinned to look cool like chrome?

It's not a so evil addition anyway. Just a slightly modified "read this later" addon. And it will be useful for lots of users.

I mean it's not a system service doing weird stuff like waking up the PC at night and bogging down your connection downloading updates and breaking your addons without telling you ala Google Chrome.

Was discarded by previous owner due to "horrible performance".
Was running Win Xp from a IDE drive. Yeah. Was a pain.
SATA II drive and Win7 and it zips away! Yay!
More and more i realize that my switch to other Browsers was a good move.

Sad fact is Firefox is losing marketshare in big style lately. And Mozilla's new policy of Removing Customizations, removing Options instead of fine tuning and enhancing that ones, they add instead crap like Social API and the ability to "phone with the browser" and the new "Tracking Ligth Plans".

I seriously can and will not trust such a group anylonger.

At this rate FF will soon be as horrible as Chrome or IE.

They've apparently removed:

They WILL be as horrible as chrome... Watch out for Australis.. Your own personal Google Chrome look and work-alike new Default Theme in Firefox....

And its slower as Chrome and you even do not get for all the customization trade-off Webkit Speed and HTML5 compatibility/other Webtechnology Compatibility ;)

I rather use with pride Midori and have even less html5 support, but at least i have a Browser which does not work and look like Chrome :)

Of course, some developers may add some changes to remain compatible with older browsers, but all browsers usually have a standard to attire to.
