Firefox opening old sessions

I upgraded to Windows 7 with FF 3.5.2 installed. When I start up FF, occasionally old pages will load up, even if I close FF with no pages open and have cleared my old tab sessions. When I start FF it won't just open up the pages that I was last on but pages from hours before hand. Anyone else have this problem or know what it could be?

sessionstore.js, in the Firefox profile, may be the cause, and you may have more than one similar file; any/all can be removed. FF will create a new .js upon restart.

I upgraded before and it did it, so downgraded thinking that might have been it. It didn't help.

Thanks, I'll delete my sessionstore.js file to see if that does anything.

Changing the version of Firefox would have no effect on any/all sessionstore.js files, as they are (as previously indicated) in the profile, not in the Firefox program folders.

This difference is an extremely common misunderstanding about Firefox, with people constantly posting on MozillaZine that they did actions such as reinstalling Firefox which did not change the behavior of Firefox. That the behavior did not change is what is to be expected, rather than complained about. Asking first as to the proper thing(s) to do might actually be helpful....

That is easy to fix: Don't open Firefox....

Suggest that you post a message in the Firefox Support forum, which does not require registration, and where you're likely to get suggestions on other things to try:

Just a guess..

Open up Tools>Options> And on the General Tab is "When Firefox Starts:" set to "Show my windows & tabs from last time", if so put it back to Home Page or w/e.
