Recently, and only every now and then, my Comcast web (home) page is rendered/presented entirely as text, rather than its more palatable graphics form. This doesn't happen all of the time, just periodically. I suspect that I may have one or more of the Firefox Option settings set incorrectly. Any suggestions?

Thanks to any/all in the community for your direction.

Once in a while, I encounter similar "webpage rendered completely in text only" issues for different webpages in Firefox & other browsers. In my case, it is likely due to slower-than-usual internet connection (... due to censorship rules, all internet users at my location are forced to tunnel through the state-imposed proxy). Refreshing the same webpage immediately or after a few minutes tends to resolve the issue.

Someone once also mentioned that the ISP's DNS resolution might be slow. Try flushing DNS, & then use Open DNS (208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220) or Google's Public DNS (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4). From personal experience, although I am wary of privacy issues, I found that Google's DNS tends to be more reliable. Less "text-only" webpage problems.
