Project 'Minefield' is a Mozilla x64 build for Firefox. Does everything your vanilla Firefox does!

It's running very stable on my 7100 x64.

Project minefield as with all firefox builds comes in x86 and x64.

Here is the basic run down of firefox development

firefox 3.0 builds = current stable

firefox 3.1 now bumped to 3.5 builds = current development ( codename shiretoko )

firefox 3.2 now bumped to 3.6 builds = next version development ( codename minefield )

One thing to keep in mind is that 64 bit browsers needs 64 bit plugins and there is is no 64 bit flash yet.

What you have is a pre-release(thunk version?), the link I gave is the last stable.

That compiler guy can be a bit slow getting the latest version out.

Its a crying shame there is no 64-bit flash.

If I remember correctly (please don't quote me) but I had FFx86 installed and the x64 version installed fine, even adopted my FF settings. So, my answer is yes. I just hope it doesn't hose your settings. Let us know how it goes. For what it's worth, I'm currently using it with no problems.

Just backup your Firefox profile/settings before installing the x64 version. Go to,

C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Local

and make a backup of the Mozilla folder. This will give you a copy of all profiles, settings and any extensions.
