Long time reader - first time poster. Built my first custom computer a while back and have been fighting issues for a while.

Here are my symptoms; these don't occur with any specific frequency and don't seem to be caused by any specific action:

-BSOD
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE
BAD_POOL_CALLER
BAD_POOL_HEADER
REFERENCE_BY_POINTER
Video Scheduler has experienced an error (or something like that)

-Flickering/Disappearing Windows
-Crash w/o BSOD....just a frozen screen

These are the actions I've taken:
-Manually (and with third party software) verified all drivers are current
-Windows Memory Test
-Third party RAM test
-Clean install/re-installs of windows 7 and upgrade to windows 10

DM log uploaded

For some reason, it doesn't seem as if my computer is generating regular dump files. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

H cannoncd,

Welcome to the 7forums.

   Warning
Programs that claim to update your drivers install either the wrong or corrupted drivers.
If you have installed any driver with Driver Booster 3, please remove them as it may cause trouble.

There are several crashes, but only 1 dump file, 1 dump file isn't enough to find a patern or the actual cause.
Please check {windows partition}\windows\minidump and check if there are any dump files saved.
Please make sure your pc is configured for small dump files How to configure minidump | Windows 7 tutorial

Yeah, for some reason my minidump files were deleted. I'll wait until I get a handful more and re-post. Thank you!

Is there any specific reason that these BSOD's would case my minidumps to erase? Because that's what's happening :-\

I had saved up about 4 or 5, and the last restart erased all of them and left only one.

Diagnostics Test

 System File Check

Please try following:
  • Open an admin command prompt
  • Copy/paste "sfc/scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
  • When it finished reboot your system
  • Open again an admin command prompt
  • Enter sfc/scannow again
If sfc/scannow does NOT say "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violation", please upload the cbs.log file located at {windows partition}\Windows\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.

Disk cleanup and programs like CCleaner can remove dump files to regain space not sure why a reboot would erase them

I think that's it.

I have ccleaner do an automatic clean at 2GB. I just checked and memory dumps were selected (I didn't even realize they were an option). Thanks a lot, I'm a dummy!

I'll recollect some minidumps and re-post. How many would be good to have at a minimum?

Alright....I am now up to 5 BSOD errors w/minidumps.

Lately, the computer has been totally freezing vice giving a BSOD. The screen will first stop responding to mouse inputs, and then the mouse will freeze as well. These crashes unfortunately don't leave minidumps.

DM Log is uploaded.

The 3 most recent are not loading properly for me, but 1 is a 0x119 which points to graphical issues.
The other 2 are pointing to a write error.
Code:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (50)
Invalid system memory was referenced. This cannot be protected by try-except,
it must be protected by a Probe. Typically the address is just plain bad or it
is pointing at freed memory.
Arguments:
Arg1: [COLOR="Red"]fffff88006c9bc78, memory referenced[/COLOR].
Arg2: [COLOR="red"]0000000000000001[/COLOR], value 0 = read operation, [COLOR="red"]1 = write operation[/COLOR].
Arg3: fffff800030937bc, If non-zero, the instruction address which referenced the bad memory
	address.
Arg4: 0000000000000001, (reserved)

Please uninstall everything of AMD using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from AMD. Please ONLY install the drivers, using custom/advanced options.

Please test your memory, a write error could mean the memory address was corrupted, not likely but it could.

I have run memtest86 in the past (but not since the most recent BSOD's). Would you like me to still run it?

Ok. I have re-installed the drivers per the instructions above (did so in safe mode, as the DDU recommended).

I am still experiencing the "flickering program windows" issue.

I will run memtest overnight tonight, unless you think it's prudent I should do so immediately.

Will do.

Interesting that it just happened now, but as the screen flickering continued, my monitors (I'm running three) blacked out and I got a notification that my display driver crashed, but had recovered. I have seen this happen a handful of times in the past. Just another data point FYI.

The screen flickering has also stopped.

Since building the computer, it's always had 3 monitors connected (I play a MUD in which multiple screens are very handy).

I can certainly try with just one monitor connected, but the flickering doesn't always happen (I'd say about ~30% of the time).

Alright, will do.

However, the reason I built the system myself was to ensure I had a graphics card that could support 3 monitors (I had fairly minimal requirements elsewhere, so I didn't need to go crazy buying a high end gaming computer).

If the fix ends up being "use only one monitor," what can I do to return to 3 monitors? I imagine the answer might be....buy a new graphics card? Heh.
