Folks, it is now 5pm local time, I've been sitting here trying to fix an error on SHUTDOWN that states, "Netio.sys error" then the next line is "Page fault in non page area". About ready to throw in the towel on this one.

System is win7/64, 6mg ram, dual hdd. This is the first serious problem I've encountered in over a year. Another tip: When it tries to shutdown, monitor screen lines go horizontal.

Latest two pcs of s/w have been uninstalled, no joy. Have the latest ATI drivers.

Hope someone here can help me get rid of this thing.

Sorry slow getting back was playing some battlefield 3,
Anyhow, I see you have a old conextant modem. Do you actually use it?
If not I would remove it from the computer. It is not supported by win 7 it's considered a shelved 3rd party device.
I'm even more confused by the fact that you apparently have multiple versions of various drivers for it all installed at once.

Anyhow it's going to be the first thing I point my fingers at.

Also when you have a minute run this
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

That's just a general purpose check because of some stuff I saw in the system log.

Hmm, that is odd. That particular modem was used but it has been at least 5 years. I am now using the Motorola SB6121, before that Motorola SB4200. I have ran the sfc / scannow earlier yesterday. Took 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete and didn't find anything. Will look for entries to see if they can be deleted. Will advise.

EDIT: using a reg searcher, ran search for "conxtant" and came up w/1 entry. Promptly deleted it and started getting giddy thinking that was the problem. Alas, it wasn't. Didn't run command line because frankly, I'm bushed! Perhaps will run later this morning and get back.

Well, unable to run the sfc /scannow command. Keep getting the "Windows Resource protection could not start the service".

Unable to use a OEM disk due to the fact that I don't have one. Tried all the tricks to get the service started, but no joy. So, now what?

Sorry, receiving the same error message. The computer is running ok, just have the problem on either reboot or shutdown. Took the time to write down the error: FFFFF880011603DA. Perhaps this will give you a clue? Lemme know....
