Hi all, my first post, I've tried everywhere to find an answer to this and I'm hoping some smart guru will be able to give me an answer to my question.

Recently my system was playing up, I sent it in for repair as I didn't have the time to fix it myself, I've built all my last five systems from the MB up so I know a little of what I'm doing.

This time the video card was overheating and became corrupt so it was replaced. In doing so the repairer created an Admin account called a yes thats right "a" and now every time I log in I have "a" and "Tony" as log in options. Tony, thats me was always there and is an Admin, so is "a". I have tried everything to remove "a" from the login screen but cannot.

Please, how can I delete this account, I've tried everything, from control panel/user accounts/remove "a" and delete files, I've done it in normal mode, safe mode I've tried everything but each time I restart the system it comes back.

Any help would be appreciated here.

I'm using Windows 7 ultimate 64bit

Cheers
Tony :(

Probably, it would be better to hide this account from logon screen.

You can apply attached reg file or create it yourself with this code:
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList]
"a"=dword:00000000

Thanks for the reply, by right clicking my computer and going into "manage" I selected disable account which has effectively removed the account from the log in page, but I would dearly like to know how to remove it completely, there must be a way, if it can be created surely it must be able to be destroyed :sarc:
