Flash videos won't display

Hey guys,

unfortunately I had to reinstall the OS on my notebook and now I stumbled upon this particular problem:

I use Mozilla's Firefox 8.0 and downloaded Adobe Flash Player, xvid-codecs and the DivX-Bundle. But it still is impossible for me to watch flash videos, e.g. those seen on VideoWeed, NovaMov, or Videobb. Where the video should be, all I get is white.
When I right-click on it, I get: About Adobe flash player 11.1.102.55.
It also doesn't work on IE9. I have already reinstalled all the aforementioned software, rebooted my system. Still didn't work.
I also installed all the "Windows Update" downloads.

Maybe you have a solution for me.
Thanks in advance
Oliver

Hello!

Thank you for your reply!

Yes, I have done lots of searches regarding my problem. None of those have led me to a viable solution, unfortunately.

The only thing I didn't do, was rebooting my system between uninstalling adobe flash player and reinstalling it. I have tried this now, but it still won't work.

I have also read the links you posted - some of which I had already found before - but my problem is not among those. :(

Any more suggestions?
Thanks
Oliver

Those websites host "Flash Videos" so I don't see why you need additional codecs. I went to NovaMov in IE8, 32-bit, with just the normal Adobe Flash Player installed, and can view videos the same as I can view YouTube. Can you see YouTube videos ok?

Hey,
sorry for the late response!

I can view youtube videos perfectly fine.
Strange thing is, in the meantime, I have tried to watch the aforementioned sites on the computers in my university, which run Windows 7 (don't know how much bit) and Firefox 5.0.1, IE8 and Adobe Flash Player in it's 10-ish version.
Also there it didn't work. That was a bit of a relieve, but on the onther hand, since it was possible for me to watch those videos before the reboot, and you guys can still watch the videos, it can only mean, that there is something else I have to download, right?

As I said, I can watch videos on NovaMod site but I haven't downloaded anything special other than Flash. Perhaps whatever is blocking those videos on your university computer is also blocking them on your system.
