Hello,
I was interested in downloading a flash player video and didn't realize what all that entailed. Needed to install a program that would download the .flv file and then had to either find a plug-in for WMP to play the .flv file or find an altogether standalone player.
What I found for downloading was Flv Capture
and then for playing them was Play-it-Now Media Player which I think is just a renamed player that is really the VLC player.
Just downloaded and tried them out last night and from what I tell they both seem to do the job. The flv downloader is a bit strange as it opens up a mini internet browser window thats not in English, but there is no need for it to be as it still downloads the flv in English.
The Player I was happy to see didn't try and take over every media file on the PC and have it open it. Looking at the list of files the player has associated itself with as the default player was very short and most of the extensions I've never heard of.
So were these a good choice?
Are there easier downloaders and a safe plug-in for WMP as that is the Player I most commonly use?
There is another Player on the PC called Media Direct from Dell and it works well, but again it doesn't play .flv files. Doubt there is any plug-ins for it to play flv.
Any thoughts on these programs or replies about better choices would be greatly appreciated.
Thnx, -OEM
Just on a side Note:
Dell Media Direct is more than just a player. Should your Notebook be shut down, instead of powering up and booting to the OS, there's another button for Media Direct to power up and it loads very fast. Although my notebook is rarely powered down, the program is also installed on the OS and can be ran from within Windows.
