In Vista, no matter if i was viewing the folder content as Large Images, Tiles or Details, there would always be the bar at top which allowed me to sort the content by name, and other ways. In windows 7, I have noticed that this bar only appears when viewing the content as Details. Is there anyway to Customize explorer to always have the bar at top, regardless of the way I have chosen to view the content?

"Large Icons", so no bar

"Details" So there is a bar

I don't think it's possible... I could be proved wrong though.

If I have to a view a folder in a way other than the Details option, I just do what I've shown in the attached picture, by pressing alt. It's not what you're looking for though, unfortunately.

I like the way it's done in Seven. You click Arrange by (upper right corner) in any explorer window, but depending on the content type you have different sorting criteria.

Would be a nice feature to have back, even if it is optional, since I got used to sorting files by 1 click...
For me, all of my folders use general settings beside the picture folder. I don't using different sorting options for videos, documents and music, and that option for different sorting was already in Vista. It is not new to 7.
