Solved Folder Icons Changing

Windows 7 Professional SP1

I have folder "Display file icon on thumbnails" checked for all folders.
Strangely when I create a new folder on the desktop and name it "bridge"
any icons in that folder change to large thumbnail types. If I just
change the folder name to "bridge1" or anything else the icons immediately
change back. I have many other folders that don't have this problem.

Any suggestions?

SevenForum,
I discovered that if I move the folder off the desktop and then
chose organize -> folder options -> view -> Apply to Folders click
yes and move the "bridge" folder back to the desktop it works.
Very strange.

The place where Windows keeps up with these things gets messed up (full?). You might have a similar problem with another folder soon.
