You may have to look at the properties of the folder and see if it points to all the correct directories. Also, the icon itself doesn't look right. It should be a folder with a little text document, not an icon with a little picture.

Try and change it's properties to the following:
Sharing tab points to \\YourPCname\Users\Youraccountname\Documents
Location tab points to C:\Users\Youraccountname\Documents
Customize says to optimize this folder for Documents.

See if that sorts things out.

Well I think there is a bit of confusion here so may I ask you Trendy, Do you fully undestand the new file structure of Windows 7 and in particular are you quite au fait with the working of Libraries? It is very different to XP and reading your previous thread which still seems to be unreslolved I feel you would be well advised o read up about the new file structure. Once you get the hang of it, it works very well. he fact that you use an external hard drive makes Libraries even more useful! Lots of people moan about duplicating files if you use Libraries but this is not so and becomes clear when you read up the Libraries documentation.

There are a number of Guides and tutorials on Libraries but these two look good.
Windows 7 features - Libraries - Microsoft Windows
Understanding the Libraries Feature in Windows 7 - How-To Geek
Main thing is when reading through these articles you tend to get so far and then forget the first bit, or I do anyway. So the answer is to read a bit. Have a look on your PC and when you are happy that you understand so far, then go to the next step.
If you get stuck then just post here but keep it to one thread otherwise it will loose it's continuity.
Look forward to hear how you get on.
As an extra you might like to take another look at how you use your External Hard Drive. I would tend to regard that as the main storage for data and use Libraries in the way they were intended as a link to your folders on the hard drive. Allwill become clearer as you get into Libraries. This is probably one of the best features of Windows 7 (IMHO)

Yea thanks for info.I will have a read of that later on,As its school holidays my granddaughter will set her self on my this afternoon.
Just one point before I go,If I decide to keep all my documents/Pictures/Music/Video all on an external drive and just keep the C drive for the windows and all programs etc.
Now if I decide to do that what would be the best way to Access those from the EX hdd,And what about setting a backup of that ext hdd,Access would be the first answer I would like to know.
Thanks very much,I'll be back soon.

Sorry about my last post, caps lock left on and didn't check:o
Realised that those two links I sent you might make things look more complex than they really are. Basically how they work is if you have, say, photos stored on an external hard drive you just create what's called a location in a folder on Libraries to connect to that ext HD folder and you would then just need to click on the location to open all the files on that location on the ext HD. Next to that in Libraries you could have as many different locations as you wish all to different folders on different hard drives, all under one roof. Saves ages of swopping between drives and folders to find your files. The thing to remember, and this is where many make a mistake, is that you don't create duplicates of your files when you add a location in Libraries so virtually no disc soace is taken up by Libraries on your main "C" Drive. Well very little anyway, a matter of a few Kb's. You can have more than one Library location to the same folder on a Hard Drive, in fact you can have as many as you wish, you still won't duplicate your files.
One point to remember for later on. I would recommend that you give your External hard Drive a dedicated drive letter high up in the alphabet, say X,Y or Z. When you are ready post back and i will explain why athis is recommended and how to achieve it. Quite starightforward. Can save probs in the future
