Is there a way to switch a folder into a view that is not organized in any way? Basically, my boss wants to put things in the order of priority (EX: Drags one to the top and it will stay at the top, drag one to spot 2 it stays at spot two, etc). Since he'd have an issue with removing a file every time, I'm aghast to set it by modified or entry date as that would make it go all over the place for him, and I'd prefer not putting it by name and putting "1 - (File name)"

So, anyone know a way to switch it around so it can be set by drag in, or not auto adjust or do it like the desktop?

Thanks, that would actually be exactly what I want. I'll talk to my boss and see if he agrees, but I have 3 questions.

1) Is this a micro$oft or third party fix?

2) Does this affect all folders or just the one he's in? Since it's a reg file I assume all.

3) Will this affect his desktop? I'm curious as that problem has been ongoing for a bit and I think I solved it but want to know if this will help if not.

My current understand is this is a third party fix that will affect all files and probably won't affect his desktop. Thanks for the help.

Answers inline. :)

It's a change in the registry settings that we (not MS) developed for this issue.

It does not work in library folders and some folder view settings, but you can read more details on this at the top of the tutorial at the link post above.

No, it will not affect the desktop itself. Only in the desktop folder when open.

I saw that, I was just curious if there was an option to turn it on off in folder views (doesn't seem like it). . .

Ah, frell it. I'm just going to test it on my laptop ^.^ Good development, do you guys have a list of all fixes you have made?

I'm still looking for a way, but just haven't found one yet. :(

The closest thing we have to a list is the tutorial index. There are many though.
