I like my folders/files view to be the "details" view - name, size, date, all that stuff.

I can see how to get to "folder options" to make that happen, but the "apply to all folders" button, which would make this my default, is grayed out so I can't click it. How do I fix this?

Also, in details view, I can see the data I want for files, but the only way I can see the details (date, etc.) for folders is to mouseover the folder. Is this a "new to 7" quirk? In XP, folder data would show up in a details view, just as file data would.

Hello 450125,

To not have Apply to Folders grayed out, you will need to open Folder Options from within that Windows Explorer window instead.

Since Vista, folders do not show the folder size by hovering over it. Doing so would cause a delay of loading all of the files and folders in that Windows Explorer window. The only way now is to right click on the folder and click on Properties. :(

Hope this helps,
Shawn
