A newbie here and to windows 7. I had XP and liked the way the folders could be set to thumbnail.I do a lot of scrapbooking. Is there any way to have thumbnails shown in these folders? I have figured out there is no way to have the 4 thumbnails shown on the folder cover like XP does, but would like thumbnails inside.I hope this is clear. All I have is a detailed list.

In small Icons, List and Details view, no thumbnails are shown in windows 7. In any other view, thumbnails are auto generated. But if you want to put any particular image as thumbnail display, rename the image as "Folder.jpg" , then the only picture will be shown.

Up in the toolbar on the far right, click the little down pointing arrow.
Windows 7 is capable of displaying much larger thumbnails then XP.

Or right-click with in the view and select "View" from the menu.

Thank you both. I figured I was stuck with the large folder icons.I'll just have to get used to them. XP was so much better.
