Solved Folders inside of Compressed (zipped) folders always show details view

My default view for folders is medium icons, so any folder I open in explorer will show medium sized icons unless I change that folder's view setting, but folders that are inside Zip files will show details view by default, but if I change it to another view like medium icons it will remember it. How do I make it so folders inside Compressed (zipped) Folders show medium icons by default?

Zip files is a process done to files and folders you select to reduce size and package on a single file. What you see on explorer is not a file itself but a result of a decompression process preview.
You already fond a solution: I change it to another view like medium icons it will remember it.

It's not really a solution because I have to change it manually for every new zip file, how can I get Windows to open it in a different view by default? Cabinet files do open by default in medium icons.

I've been trying to figure out what registry key might control the default zip folder view settings, I found "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderTypes\{80213e82-bcfd-4c4f-8817-bb27601267a9}" but I tried copying keys from the other folder types and restarted explorer but it didn't seem to make any difference at all.

That isn't necessarily the case. The registry can't change anything unless this functionality was explicitly designed in. There are a great many things in Windows that cannot be changed. The fact that no one has provided an answer suggests that the option you want is not supported.

That might end up being the case, but the thing is that Windows does store and remember the view settings for already opened Zip folders in the bags registry key. What I'm thinking is I could write a key that would apply to all Zip folders, kind of the same idea as this: Windows Explorer Auto Arrange - Disable - Windows 7 Help Forums

I don't know how to write a bags key, but I know the CSLID for Zip folders is {80213e82-bcfd-4c4f-8817-bb27601267a9}. Could someone maybe help to write the registry key?

I did it! I took the bag key from a zip folder that was displayed how I want, with medium icons and the contents displayed by name, and copied it to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders\Shell\{80213E82-BCFD-4C4F-8817-BB27601267A9} and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders\Shell\{80213E82-BCFD-4C4F-8817-BB27601267A9} and now any new zip folder I open is displayed like that! I knew it was possible, just a pain in the arse to do.
