When I try to rename a folder , I get a comment like something open in another folder or program and I know of nothing that it is open - Hence I cant make a rename

Also if I MOVE a File to another folder, it just copies it , and then it wont let me delete the original folder ---

Doing this kind of stuff used to be so easy on XP , but I guess one has to learn it all over again

Your help would be appreciated-- Thanks,,,,,Ralph

it seems that you've either got a file open in another program, or at least windows or some other software thinks you have.

i used to get this problem with winamp - i listen to a folder, decide i want to move it, but winamp keeps the file reference in its history list (or something) and windows complains when i move it, even after exiting winamp.

a reboot always worked for me.

if it doesn't, can you tell us what sort of folder you are trying to move/rename?

I have the same problem ---By clicking around and going elsewhere and coming back , the problem somehow gets resolved, but this is time consuming--Why should one have to go to UNLOCKER ? also , the review says this is only good for XP , but I guess , one could tweak it to work-- This problem also applies to moving folders as well as renaming --

Are there any experts on this line concerning this problem with some scientific explanations for this problem?

Your advice would really be appreciated-- Thanks,,,,,Ralph
