Is there a W7 app for viewing fonts without installing them?

There is no need for any extra program, Windows includes one.
Just double click any ttf or fon file and it'll open a preview of it, having the option to install it systemwide.

Thanks guys. I should have said I want to look at some new sample fonts that aren't yet installed. I'll try Alejandro's tip.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

Heads up: Just now installed Nexus Font and it does allow viewing of uninstalled fonts, or folders full of uninstalled fonts. Thanks again for the tip :-))

WinFontsView only works with installed fonts. That does not meet the OP's requirements. He wants to be able to look at a bunch of prospective fonts before deciding which to install on his system. WinFontsView cannot do that, but the aforementioned NexusFont will.

I don't mean to speak for the OP, but in the past I have likewise browsed through a bunch of font candidates to decide which to permanently commit to my system, and IME it's far easier to look at them all together in one window, displaying the same sample text. Using the native Windows font viewer is not as convenient.

The OP wasn't wanting to just look at one or two fonts, but had a whole folder of candidates he downloaded and wanted to compare them side by side before deciding which to toss and which to keep.

Guys, thanks for the comments but I did say in my post #6 that Nexus Font did the job and I marked the question as solved.
