Solved Fooling windows to look for a path in a different location

I want windows to "redirect" to a different location when looking for a particular path. So that if for example, Program XX needs to open C:\Folder\image.bmp, it will actually go search to say, D:\Folder\image.bmp.

I know this is a weird thing to ask, but hey its the 21st century, it may be possible. In desperation I tried using a shortcut file haha but it doesn't work.

More detailed explanation: I have a dual boot with XP and 7 in separate drives. I have configured 7 to use Windows XP's "My Music". After that iTunes recognized all my music files and handcrafted playlists (that came from XP). The thing is that these iTunes files direct it to look for the music in C:, and from Windows 7 point of view C: is the drive that holds Windows 7 and hence is not the drive that actually holds my music (ie. the drive that is C: from Windows XP point of view). So iTunes has all my music and playlists, but if I try playing anything it says the files are missing, because its looking in the wrong place. I can think of solutions but they all involve recreating iTunes' files and playlists or copying my music to Windows 7 drive, and all "folder redirection" info I found relates to user folders like My Documents and networking.

Well, thanks a bunch for putting up with this weird request.

Welcome.

For iTunes redirection, go to the Edit tab (in iTunes)
Select Preferences
Then Advanced
Here you can set where iTunes keeps it's files.
