For Anyone Using The New Google Photo APP (free unlimited pix storage)

Hello,

Will blame my ignorance on my Sr. Citizen status.

Trying to use that new Google APP, Google Photos, where they are providing free unlimited cloud storage.
Have been uploading my photos to them, but it is incredibly slow.

Questions, please:

a. for anyone using: how long does it take you to upload a few photos ?
I have a "typical" Comcast internet home connection. Incredibly slow (for me)
Please just tell me, e.g., how many minutes for example 10 photos; don't understand the MB/sec kind
of answer. Blame this also on old age now.

b. Their web page interface to us humans is, IMHO opinion abominable.

Might someone please tell me exactly how to go about Posting questions to their Help Community forums. Just can't figure it out. Can't find, or come up with, any Button or Window for doing so.
Must be possible, since there are questions shown.
A exact and step by step on doing so would be much appreciated.

I bet you can use a calculator?


Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test - run the test and note the upload speed, should be in Mbps (Megabits per second), now divide this by 8, the division is the upload speed in MB/s (megabyte per second).

Select all pictures you want to upload and right click properties. Note the size they take in Megabytes.

Divide Total Size by upload speed in MB/s and that's how many seconds it will take to upload in ideal conditions. Divide it further with 60 to find how many minutes. Actual time may vary a bit.
