Hi Badwolve1, welcome to the forums.

How much memory does your GFX have? As far as I can tell there is only XP drivers available which indicates that the 865 is not 100% designed for Vista/Seven which means that you won't get the 2.0 WEI score in order to activate Aero.

You could also have a look in the registry

No, 865 predates vista by a couple of years. It wasn't until 945 that intel did aero.

can i share memory from my ram to my graphics card?

You would have to check your bios settings as to whether it allows you to set up shared memory. Some onboard cards automatically detect the amount or RAM you have and will share what is available (but only to a maximum depending on you card).

The mininote has VIA chrome graphics, have you got the right drivers?

my mininote worked with 7 fine, it would still be working if i had not rebuilt it

i went to bios, the max i can set to go to graphics is 8mb

can i trick the system rating thing that controls aero?
