So I got a SimpleTech 500 gig HDD, and my plans for it is use as a storage for our PS3, and i know its gotta be in FAT32 format, and i succeeded in making a 31gig partition which the PS3 will read just fine, but i would like to have the entire drive formatted for use on the PS3 in one partition....

I have tried using the command prompt method and it comes up showing the drive is in NTFS format and will be changed to FAT32 but then asks to enter the current drive label for drive G: and nothing i try will allow it to work.... it just says incorrect volume label...

Yeah, I did something similar when my bro messed up the PS3 drive somehow when the power went out and it was saving.

I took the drive and put it in my pc. Then I really forget what I did, but it was something special and out of the ordinary.

I believe I used Acronis Disk Director Suite amongst other things. Give that a try. Let us know how it goes.

Give disk management a try, within Windows 7. Type it into the start menu search box.

Then delete any partitions on the drive. Then format the entire volume to FAT32.
