Hey guys! :D
I am having problems with a VERY slow laptop. (It is 3 months old.)
The booting and general browsing is slow and lags a lot! D: (I have another thread about that issue.)

So should I format or reinstall my Windows 7? (I don't have any restore points.)
And how do I do this? (I have no clue as I have never done this myself.)
I have don't have a windows 7 CD, as it came with Windows 7 when I bought it.

And do I need a Windows 7 Key to reinstall windows? (Is it the key underneath the laptop?)

Thanks for answers!

A few things you can do:
1) in the lower left search box type msconfig.exe. Go to the startup tab and check that you don't have a heap of start up software selected. Most can be deselected and they will start when needed. If unticking an item causes problems just go back in and reselect it.
2) type Resource Monitor and select the CPU tab and see what is consuming your resources.
3) type Disk cleanup and see if you have some rubbish you can get rid of. Then type Disk Defrag and do an analyze. If defrag % is high then run the defrag.

If you want to do a clean install then I would first use free Macrium Reflect to image every partition of your laptop. Also create the factory restore DVDs. This is good insurance in case things go pear shaped. Then follow this tutorial:

If you decide to reinstall:

You can download a legal Windows ISO file and burn it to a disc. Install from that disk and activate with that key on your sticker.

You don't need the key to install, but you need it to activate and use Windows for more than 30 days.

If I can't find a solution for the "slowness", I will reinstall Windows 7.
But can you give me a link to a site where they provide Windows 7 Iso's?
I have done disk cleanup several times, and I have nothing other than my my virus program on the msconfig starup programs.

I am pasting my system info now, so you can take a look at than as well :)

Hmm. I have a USB stick with a bootable usb, but I apparently has to make a boot option in the bios.
(As there isn't an option for a Removable Device or similar in the "Boot" Section of the bios.) What do I do?
As far as I know it is only Asus laptops that has this problem. :C

That's a bit poor! Are you saying you can't even boot from an external USB DVD drive?
Do you have an internal DVD drive?

Hi,

Insert the USB stick, and then during bootup, press the ESC key repeatedly - you should get an option that allows yopu to select the boot device and the USB should be listed.

This is the option I see on my ASUS X54C laptop, so you should see something similar.

Regards,
Golden
