Formatting software

Hey, i just installed Win7 onto my laptop today. I was wondering how I would go about formatting my partition with vista on it. I do not want vista on it anymore and wish to have a partition just for data. every time i right click and say format it wont let me.

any help would be appreciated

go into system security / and listed under administrative tools should be create and format hard disk partitions, format your vista partition, and then go into your primary partition and add the unallocated space back on.
