Solved Formatting with Win 7

I have recently installed Win7 on a trial basis. I would now like to uninstall, format Drive C: and reinstall again.

On the installation process there was originally a "format" option, however it was a "quick format" not full format. Win XP offered the option of a full format on each installation.

So, bottom line, how does one do a full format before, during or after a Win 7 install.

Also, is there any equivalent of the "find file" or "run" command in Win 7.

Thanks!

full format can be done through 3rd party bootup disks -

Run line and Find File are now enabled through properties, just check the boxes, friend.

Both are a bit different. Anyway to launch run window in Windows 7:

1. Click start.

2. Type "Run" (wthout quotes" ; strike Enter from keyboard.

Or

press [Windows logo key in key board ] :orb: and "R" at the same time.

One of the frst things I do on a new install is rightclick an empty area of the Start menu to Customize, add the Run Command, Network, Video and Downloads folders, set Control Panel and Computer to "Display as a Menu" so it folds out to the side for quicker access, and other choices which Users tend to prefer.

You asked about a "find" command: I would use the Start Search box to find a folder, Program or anything else you've stored, and Control F to search within any file or page.
