HEY GUYS !
I have installed most all of my drivers and software with this trick into windows 7 so check it out.

Problem solved: WoW I had the same problem with drivers for windows 7 so here is the fix guys. Install driver or program from the web site or cd. Cd's might take you coping the exe. off the cd and putting it on the desktop and right clicking and running as admin and restart Pc. Then on the shortcut right click and click on troubleshoot compatablity then trouble shoot program and then select the program worked in early versions. Select Vista sp 1 or sp2 then hit the button and There ya go try it now and it all works fine. Your welcome.
This has worked on alot more drivers. This was kool and hope I helped..................

sadly this trick still doesnt work on my 64-bit win7 pc.
I tried to run it with windows xp compatibility but it still doesnt work.

Hey man I know it works on that system and if ya do exactly what I did it will work. I have a w7 64bit also and this is what it took.
Here lets do it together so I can get ya going here.
First download the newest forteManager. Ok now run as admin and install. Then on the short cut right click and chose troubleshoot compatibility and then troubleshoot program. then click on the top box that says the program worked in earlier versions. Select vista sp2 and click on next. Then click on start program it will work and make sure ya save the setting that works.

I do exactly what you said but I don't know why it just doesn't work.
I use the 3.08 fortemanager with the W2353v monitor

YEAH man I have a w2753v here with w/7 64bit and I got it working twice when I had to reformat on my new PC here. Man I wish I could do more for ya can't think of anything I left out so..... Good luck sorry again I couldn't help ya man.

A fix for others that might work ???

OK !
I tried to install this on my laptop and it would not work the way I have done before. So..... This is what I did to get it working on my laptop. Download the forte Manager and with it on the desktop right click on it. Ok now in properties go to the compatablity tab and set it for vista sp 1 then apply. Now install it and it worked for me. You can try many things and thats all I do in the trouble shooting process. Good luck

hey, i am having the same problem and not matter what compatibility mode i set it on it still doesnt work. plus when i click "check updates" in forte manager the LG site comes up and says that there is maintenance. ive checked thier website for 3 days and they still have "maintenance".
whats going on
forte manager worked perfectly when i had windows XP.
my model is W2253TQ.

HEY James don't give up. Try all of the stuff I said in the other posts and see if it will work. Like I said you can try a lot of different things and it might work but I know I have got it working every time on my PC with a little persistence. mESS WITH THE SHORTCUT ON THE DESK TOP AND USE THE TROUBLE SHOOTING THING ON THE SHORT CUT. wow i thought no1 would ever reply lol.
i get the feeling that LG stopped supporting this program?
or something.
because the "update" site for this program isn't up and hasn't been up for a very long time.
when you click "check for updates" in forte manager, does the site you get directed to say that there is maintenance?

Just curious, Why do you need Forte manager?

It isn't a driver. Its just a app to change the color settings, rather than using the touch screen controls on the monitor. It can also be a bit buggy in Win7 x64, even w/compatability mode.


If you want the Driver/Color profiles:
Open Device Manager and expand Monitor section
R/click the LG monitor & Choose update Driver
Choose Let Me choose
And guide it to the driver folder on the CD that came with the monitor.

It will instal just the driver and color profiles.

im aware its an app, and thats why i would like to use it.
updating it through device manager doesn't work.
the reason why i want to use the app is because its easier to change settings, plus i haven't found any option in my screen menu to change from Digital to HD.

lol, the program is successfully installed and i can run it, but i cant select any options and no details come up about my monitor, the program like.. doesnt recognize i have a monitor.
dont worry, i guess i have to get used to the annoying and barely visible touchscreen buttons on my computer.

ok well... all of a sudden now forte manager recognizes my model and all the info, but i still cant select any options.

i selected "run as admin" but nothing changed.

fM v. 2.8 v. 3.xx

@James: I had no difficulty with fM 3.xx with XP SP3, however there is nothing that I tried that enables me to run v. 3.xx on Win7x64 (launches but all of the options are grayed out as you experienced). But, I am able to run v. 2.8 on Win7x64. The GUI is a bit different but the app is, essentially, the same. Have you tried it?

The various fM versions are found here.

Update: v. 3.18 now working on m x64 installation.

I spent 12 hours trying to get this to work, on my Windows 7/64 bit, followed all the instructions here and still no go. I tried downloading 2.8 but the zip file is empty! HUH? Is there anywhere else I can download it?
