Do I have to reply to every response I recieve?
Some are virtually the same answer..( just by different people at different times.)
And some, are not ( really ) a good answer. Some, aren't even an answer.

what do you guys do ?

If I have a problem and someone suggests a fix, I try it and let them know the results. If several people all chime in with the same advice I'll thank them all in one post and also post the results.

The things that irk people who take the trouble to respond the most are when you recommend that a person try "A, B, and C" and they post back "I tried A and it didn't work!??" (What happened with "B" and "C" - nobody knows...) Even worse, they post back "my friend said to do D, E, and F, but I'm still having the problem. (What happened with "A", "B" and "C" - nobody knows...)

Then there are the ones who just disappear. You assume that they got the problem fixed but you really don't know. You also don't know how they got the problem fixed, assuming it was. Every problem solved has the potential to help many other people when they stumble across a "Solved" thread while they are looking for an answer to something.

The bottom line is that the people who are trying to help someone like to know that their advice is at least being tried. :)

Thank you Prof.
Good manners is something that can be learnt.
I like this Forum. Everybody is polite and helpful.
And, even in this short time, I have gleaned a lot of information from the members whom were kind enough to give their time and advice.
(patience really IS a virtue. )

side question:
How did you underline that word (how)
I have always wanted to know how to underline a word.
Uppercase seems like screaming, but underline is quiet powerful.

Yeah,
Then there are the ones who just disappear. You assume that they got the problem fixed but you really don't know.
They could've died. Really.

*EDIT*
Oh, and it depends on the flow rate of the replies for me when it comes to me responding to them, assuming I'm the OP, at least. If there's a whole bunch of them coming in, I feel it burdensome and unnecessary to formally greet them all; I'm sure they'd understand. But if the rate at which people respond is slow, I'd say why not respond to every post if you're able to, even if it's not the greatest response that you were looking for. But it is nice to try to bring everyone into the picture at least to some extent, it connects everyone and spreads a bit of humanity everywhere, a humbling and unifying enviroment.
