Well a little update I managed to delete essentials 2011 and download the old version which has been fine for almost a week but now im have problems again I cant send emails mainly with attachments I dont understand its not my mail account as I have 4 from 3 different places its not my ISP as its only just started all I can assume it its a Win7 issue cos its only happened since I updated.

Combining your two posts, you said:
"1)...an smtp error which I can make go away if I switch my default account...
2)...it just tells me the email is missing images do I still want to send...
3)...I cant send emails mainly with attachments..."

Does #3 refer to the first two problems?

As far as #1 goes, some email service providers only allow outgoing mail (smtp) from their server when you are using them as the internet access provider.

As for #2, I have been seeing this for a long time on many email programs. I just answer "yes" (send anyway) and it goes through, although with something missing. This usually happens when "sending a web page by email".
